Law Students for Indigenous Liberation aims to advance the rights of indigenous peoples by creating a space to critique settler colonialism and its continuing harms in a legal setting. Our goal is to bring awareness to indigenous social and political movements, center indigenous voices, and assist in building an approach to the legal profession that is anti-colonial by design. Our advocacy campaigns will center indigenous voices in fighting for indigenous land sovereignty, the reclamation and repatriation of cultural property, ending the on-going exploitation and oppression of indigenous peoples, and more. Membership will be open to all full-time Northeastern University graduate students.
Undergraduate students, part-time graduate students, College of Professional Studies students, and non-Northeastern affiliates may become associate members by paying a membership fee that is set by the executive board, but will not exceed $20 per semester. Associate members are not eligible to vote or hold any position within this organization by either election or appointment.
NUG-ABSK will maintain a membership of at least twelve members at all times.
